We are looking for a database programming manager who can work with client facing teams to optimize for timely and accurate data production. The role will be responsible for accurate data storage and processing such that our results consistently exceed client expectations. We need someone who is flexible, committed and enthusiastic about making a difference!

You will be based in our Saint Aubin office and will have line-management responsibilities initially for two team members based in Mouchamps en Vendée. You will need to travel to Mouchamps en Vendée regularly to support your team and the other teams based there. .

Key Responsibilities

  • Consulting with colleagues during all stages of a project, from inception to delivery and ongoing support
  • Automating the integration of a wide variety of data sets into a common format using established ETL techniques
  • Using industry standards for documenting databases, workflows and processes
  • Design and development of relational databases
  • Design and development of non-relational data warehouses
  • Design and development of repeatable data processing workflows using appropriate technologies and proprietary systems
  • Maintenance of current workflows and processes
  • Become a domain expert for assigned projects by developing a deep and thorough understanding of all related workflows
  • Adopts new techniques and solutions to improve existing systems
  • Aims for accuracy and efficiency at all stages of data lifecycle
  • Delivers projects on high quality and on delivery costs according to plan
  • Excellent skills at problem solving
  • Additional insights to data processing techniques

Key skills required 

  • Some experience managing small teams of technical staff

  • Hands-on experience with relational databases

  • Microsoft SQL Server T-SQL

  • Fluent in English

  • Fluent in French

  • Statistical modelling

Typical Education and Work Experience required

  • Bachelors degree in a numeric field (computer science, mathematics, statistics, economics etc.)
  • Experience leading small teams of database programmers, IT workers, or technical staff
  • Experience working in an international setting
